This section contains a comprehensive discography of Irish flute and whistle recordings. There are around 200 entries and counting. Buying via an Amazon link on this site contributes to the upkeep of the site. More specialist reputable outlets are also included on the links page.

Many of these sites have sample tracks and reviews and The Flow also occasionally carries mini reviews that may be found through The Flow search engine. Please use the submission form to inform me of new or missing entries.

There are also some related entries that feature for example, Breton or Scottish flute playing. Please note that the discography does not feature recordings of bands, but where a flute player with a band has an entry, a reference to the band is made.

The discography was initiated by Michael Anthony over 10 years ago, who provided much of the original content in earlier versions which appeared on the Irish Traditional Music List (IRTRAD-L) and then on The Flow. Thanks are also due to the subscribers to woodenflute, who provided useful feedback on the content and layout of the forms page.

The key to the abbreviations used appears on a seperate page.
